SA vs ENG | Twitter reacts to controversial non-striker’s end runout verdict leaves Overton exasperated on umpire

The advent of technology has done a world of good to sports like cricket. However, there are always certain challenges, and one of them could’ve been a reason behind a runout decision going against England as evident via Jamie Overton’s discontent with the TV umpire’s verdict on Saturday.
On the first ball of the 18th over, Overton sprayed a fuller one at the stumps that Klaasen drove down the line. The bowler tried to block the trajectory with his feet before the white rock ricocheted onto the non-striker’s end stumps. An appeal followed, and the decision was sent upstairs. After trying to extract conclusive evidence based on the footage, the ultraedge loaded, and a flat line was vivid throughout the process. Therefore, a Not Out decision was made by umpire SS Saikat, but the bowler seemed extremely unhappy with it. Probably, Overton felt the technology as faulty and argued with the on-field umpires, sparking yet another Twitterverse debate.
