Although the current mindset of the Indian cricketers has very little do with personal milestones, it is always a good thing to see your name featured on an iconic list. However, Glenn Phillips had other ideas about Virat Kohli’s 300th ODI by cutting short his stay with an impeccable screamer.

With both sides unbeaten in the 2025 Champions Trophy, India and New Zealand collided in a dead rubber at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday. Being sent to bat first during the toss didn’t quite turn out rosy for the Rohit Sharma-led side as the openers faltered against the new ball duo of Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson, followed by a tremendous effort in the field curtailing Kohli’s stay.

Eight balls after Rohit’s dismissal to Kyle Jamieson, Kohli cut a length delivery outside the woods towards square on the off side on the fourth ball of the seventh over. The ball went like a tracer bullet to backward point’s right where Phillips dived in a jiffy and snared the white rock out of thin air. While Phillips has been taking such stunning catches in the past few years, the reaction time for this one was minute. Having stunned Kohli and the on-air commentators, Phillips had a wry smile on his face, sparking the Twitterverse claiming that “Kiwis can fly”.
