The age old wisdom goes never try to tame an angry lion, something Sophie Ecclestone only seemed to have learnt during UP Warriorz' encounter against Mumbai Indians in Lucknow on Thursday. The veteran came under heavy fire from Harmanpreet Kaur after trying to sort an argument out with the umpire.

A 70-run opening partnership led by a blistering 29-ball half-century from Georgia Voll was only enough to take the UP Warriorz to 150 on a batting paradise at the Ekana Stadium after Amelia Kerr triggerred a middle-overs collapse enroute to a five-wicket haul. At one stage, the hosts seemed destined to crumble under 140 and it took a few late boundaries from the bat of Sophie Ecclestone to take them to a competitive mark. However, the three boundaries were not the only fireworks the Englishwoman was involved in during her 11-ball stay at the crease as a heated moment with Harmanpreet Kaur took the headlines.

Ahead of the start of the 20th over, the umpires informed Harman her side was four minutes behind the over rate which would mean one extra fielder inside the ring for the final over. The Mumbai skipper unsurprisingly was displeased with the decision and offered a fierce argument to the officials who remained unfazed while urging Harman to make the required change in the fielding setup. While the argument brewed, Sophie Ecclestone had been quietly watching on from the non-striker's end and eventually ran out of patience as she walked over to the scene of the incident and offered some wisdom. However, Harmanpreet was having none of it, as she singalled the Englishwoman to move away and mind her own business with fury writ large over her face.

Nevertheless, the Indian and MI captain was forced to relent with the field even though Sophie did not seem to care all to much about it any longer after being personally incited, and it took some consolation from Amelie Kerr to finally calm the veteran down. Twitterati, meanwhile, was thoroughyl amused.
