Ravindra Jadeja rose to the top spot in the latest ICC Test rankings for all-rounders dethroning Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan after the second Test against Sri Lanka at Colombo. Jadeja thanked Indian skipper Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni for their guidance which eventually helped him reach the top spot.

Ravindra Jadeja is one player who has improved immensely with time and now has become the world’s best bowler and all-rounder according to ICC’s Test rankings. Jadeja's 85-ball 70 run knock followed by a 7-wicket haul not only helped India clinch the series but also helped the Saurashtra batsman surpass Shakib Al Hasan in the all-rounder Test rankings.

However, Jadeja upheld that he might not have achieved the top ranking without former skipper MS Dhoni and current captain Virat Kohli along with the support from his fans and family. Dhoni was always confident in him and helped him transform from a batsman who could bowl and Kohli assisted by making who has made the Saurashtra bowler, Pujara his go to man, making them a deadly duo.

India skipper Virat Kohli has praised Jadeja for taking the number one spot in the latest ICC all-rounders’ rankings in Tests on Tuesday.

Jadeja has 438 points, while his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin is on the third position with 418 points.
