Real Madrid are exploring a loan deal for Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund at Xabi Alonso’s request. United are open to a temporary move, with Madrid only needing to cover his €5 million salary. Despite scoring 26 goals in 95 appearances, Hojlund has struggled for form and may also attract interest from Inter Milan.

For the 2025 summer transfer window, Real Madrid have shown surprise interest in Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, reportedly on the request of new manager Xabi Alonso. According to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Madrid are considering a loan move for the 22-year-old, with United open to the idea as long as the La Liga giants cover his annual salary of €5 million (£4.2 million).

Despite having scored 26 goals and registered six assists in 95 appearances for United, Hojlund has struggled with confidence and form, especially during a tough season where the club finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. While Madrid already boast an elite attack including Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and rising star Endrick, Alonso is keen on adding depth.

Hojlund, who previously impressed at Atalanta, has also been offered to Inter, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid. European football expert Kevin Hatchard suggested Inter could be a better fit, given their need to strengthen attacking depth behind Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. Despite the glamour of Madrid, a move to Italy may be more beneficial for Hojlund’s development as he looks to rediscover his form.
