UP Yoddha’s skipper Nitesh Kumar has said that he is not under any extra pressure despite being nervous at the start of the tournament which cost them a few matches. UP Yoddha have only won one out of their five encounters in this season as their last two games have ended in a tie.

UP Yoddha have been good in their past two games but not good enough to win those matches. UP Yoddha managed to tie the matches with Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas in consecutive encounters. In last night’s match, UP Yoddha’s defence played an important role in keeping the Tamil Thalaivas raiders quite. Their defence scored 12 points as compared to Thalaivas' 10. The highest scorer in the defensive unit was Sumit with four points and he was supported well by captain Niesh Kumar who scored three points including a super tackle.

“No, I don’t think there’s any pressure. At the start of the tournament I may have been a bit nervous, which is why we have lost but now having played a few games, I don’t think there’s any extra pressure,” UP Yoddha’s skipper Nitesh Kumar commented on his captaincy.

UP might be slightly worried about their raiding unit as it has failed to make an impact till now even with raiders like Rishank Devadiga and Monu Goyat in the team, they scored five and three points in last night's match respectively. UP Yoddha were leading by a single point when Ajay Thakur went in for the last raid so all they had to do was not give away any point and they would have won the match but because of Nitesh‘s mistake, Ajay scored a point and hence the match ended in a tie.

“Yes, today’s result was detrimental to our campaign. It’s not like we wanted a tie, we were aiming for a win because even though both sides are evenly matched, our defence is stronger than theirs. Towards the end, they had a star raider in their ranks (Ajay Thakur) and he got the better of our defence for them to tie,” UP coach Jasveer Singh explained.
