Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 champions Bengal Warriorz are aiming for a playoff return in Season 12 after four straight league-stage exits. They appointed coach Naveen Kumar and bought star raider Devank Dalal for INR 2.205 crore. While their raiding looks strong, an inexperienced defense and lack of all-rounders could threaten their campaign.

When the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 kicks off, the Bengal Warriorz will be aiming for a return to the playoffs after missing out in the last four seasons. The 2019 champions endured a disappointing Season 11, finishing 10th with only 5 wins in 22 matches, which led to the exit of head coach Prashant Surve. In his place, they appointed former India international and gold medal-winning coach Naveen Kumar, with Praveen Malik as assistant coach.

The team made a strong statement at the auction, signing Season 11’s standout raider Devank Dalal for INR 2.205 crore after his impressive 301 raid points in 25 matches last year. They also brought in Iranian raider Omid Khojasteh, Sushil Kambrekar, Vishwas S, and re-signed Korean star Jang Kun Lee. However, their defensive unit lacks experience despite retaining Nitesh Kumar and Mayur Jagannath Kadam, and they have only two all-rounders in the squad.

The team’s success will heavily depend on Devank’s form, making his availability crucial. While the revamped raiding department looks like their biggest strength, defensive inexperience and over-reliance on key players could be major challenges. The Warriorz will hope their new recruits and young talents can turn their playoff hopes into reality this season.
