Iranian defender Mohammadreza Shadloui, MVP of PKL 11, has become one of the league’s most feared players since debuting in Season 8. With two titles, three finals, and record-breaking tackles, he has produced iconic moments like stopping Naveen Kumar, outsmarting Fazel Atrachalli, and tackling Pardeep Narwal. Gujarat Giants signed him in PKL 12 for ₹2.23 crore.
Going to the Pro Kabaddi League stage, Mohammadreza Shadloui has become one of the most dominant defenders the league has ever seen. Since making his debut in Season 8, the Iranian left-corner has combined strength, skill, and flair to establish himself as a nightmare for raiders. At just 24 years of age, he has already guided his team to three finals, lifting the title twice, and was deservedly named the MVP of PKL Season 11. Nicknamed “The Showstopper,” Shadloui has delivered several iconic moments across seasons.
His thigh hold on Naveen Kumar in Season 9, a perfectly timed block on Guman Singh in Season 10, and his ankle hold against Nitin Dhankar in Season 11 highlight his ability to change games within seconds. Perhaps his most memorable moment came when he tackled Pardeep Narwal in Season 9 and celebrated with a kip-up, symbolising the passing of the mantle from one PKL superstar to another.
Renowned for his explosive backflip celebrations and his wrestler-like tackling style, Shadloui’s consistency and intensity have redefined defensive standards in the league. His recent signing by Gujarat Giants for ₹2.23 crore, making him the most expensive defender in PKL 12, further underlines his stature as the face of kabaddi defence today.
