After the anticipation of months, the Pro Kabaddi League season 12 is set to begin on August 29, 2025, bringing a new format and several key changes. The league stage will run until October 23 across four venues, with 12 teams in action. This season has been shortened to 108 matches, compared to 132 in PKL 11, as injuries had heavily impacted players last year. To make the competition sharper, ties have been removed. Instead, a Golden Raid system will decide the winner if scores are level, featuring a five-raid shootout where only scored points count.
The points system has also been revamped, with two points awarded for a win and none for a loss. All 12 franchises, including defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers, former winners Patna Pirates, Bengal Warriorz, and others like UP Yoddhas, Bengaluru Bulls, Puneri Paltan, and U Mumba, have announced their squads.
Big names such as Pawan Sehrawat, Fazel Atrachali, Mohammadreza Shadloui, and Aslam Inamdar will headline the tournament. Fans can catch all the live action on the Star Sports Network, while streaming will be available on Disney+ Hotstar. With a tighter schedule, fresh rules, and star players, PKL 12 promises to be one of the most competitive editions yet.
