For the travelling Coventry City supporters, it was a night to remember as Frank Lampard’s side produced a thrilling 5-3 comeback win over his former club Derby County. The contest began in chaotic fashion when Coventry took the lead in the seventh minute after a free-kick rebounded in off Bobby Thomas. Derby quickly replied through Callum Elder’s stunning free-kick, but Coventry were ahead again when Haji Wright converted a penalty after Ephron Mason-Clark was fouled.

The hosts responded once more, Carlton Morris levelling from the spot after Thomas handled inside the box. Derby then edged in front for the first time in the 50th minute, Ebou Adams drilling home from a long throw. At 3-2 down, Coventry looked under pressure, but a remarkable spell turned the game. Brandon Thomas-Asante bundled in a rebound on 72 minutes, Mason-Clark headed in three minutes later, and Victor Torp sealed the result with a precise strike in the 79th minute.

It was Coventry’s first victory at Derby in 11 attempts. Lampard praised his team’s spirit and belief, calling it one of his favourite wins as manager, while Derby boss John Eustace lamented defensive lapses but highlighted his side’s resilience and improving fitness.
