Mohammadreza Shadloui Named Gujarat Giants Captain for PKL 2025

After the Gujarat Giants announced their plans for the Pro Kabaddi League 2025, the spotlight turned to star Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui, who was named captain ahead of Season 12. The Giants, who will begin their campaign against U Mumba on August 30 at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Vizag, also unveiled a fresh jersey in Ahmedabad during the occasion. Shadloui, a two-time PKL champion, reigning MVP, and multiple-time Best Defender, joined the side as the most expensive buy of the season at a record-breaking ₹2.23 crore.

Expressing his excitement, Shadloui said he was proud to lead a youthful and dynamic squad, with most players in their early to mid-20s. He credited the faith shown by Adani Sportsline and the coaching staff, promising to give their best in pursuit of the title. Head coach Jairvir Sharma, stepping into his first PKL season after over three decades of coaching experience, highlighted the team’s thorough pre-season training in Bengaluru, while assistant coach Varinder Singh Sandhu echoed similar confidence.
